To provide the best possible football experience for everyone involved with our Club regardless of their age, sexuality, gender, ethnic origin or ability.
We want to offer facilities and coaching in an atmosphere that is conducive to the development of every young person in terms of self-discipline, good behaviour and teamwork.
We want to provide all the boys and girls at Kempston Rovers Colts & Girls FC the maximum opportunity to develop their football, personal, social, educational and sporting skills to their full potential with the children’s welfare and enjoyment a priority in all decisions we make.
Today Kempston Rovers Colts & Girls Football Club officially launches its new community football club philosophy. Our goal is to ensure that Kempston Rovers Colts & Girls FC is the most respected community club in the Bedfordshire and a flagship for Bedfordshire FA .
We have worked with both County FA and the National FA over the past season to develop the philosophy and implement best practice at our club, promoting and supporting volunteer and community participation through football.
We want to create a lasting legacy for anyone who comes into contact with our club and for them to develop a lifelong association whether as players, coaches, officials or supporters.
The youth and juniors section is therefore a key part of our strategy to build up the club and will be closely integrated into the senior section moving forwards.
Matthew Vine, Youth Developement Officer commented “This philosophy is an important statement for us to make as a club and I’m delighted that we can finally make it.
Our philosophy provides direction, purpose and guidance to the process of coaching young players.
We want to provide all the boys and girls at Kempston Rovers Colts & Girls FC the maximum opportunity to develop their football, personal, social, educational and sporting skills to their full potential with the children’s welfare and enjoyment a priority in all decisions we make.”
We expect our coaches to create a positive learning environment. Their job is to encourage the players and team to buy into the Club’s objectives and this means putting the player’s needs before our own.
On occasion this may mean sacrificing a result in the short term, if it helps us to invest in player opportunity and development in the long term.
Our coaching philosophy is built around this firm commitment. It provides direction, purpose and guidance to the process of coaching young players. Community Coaches at Kempston Rovers Colts & Girls Football Club will not be judged by the results in any league the team might be present in, instead they will be judged by the children they teach and whether they enjoy the sessions the coaches facilitate.
We promote a holistic approach based upon the FA’s four-corner model for long-term player development.
Kempston Rovers Colts & Girls Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Club.
The FA Charter Standard accreditation is a clear demonstration that the Club is well organised, safe and offers opportunities for all.
We are one of only a handful of clubs in the area with a pathway and opportunity to progress from mini soccer at Under 7 through to open age football with our first team.
We have FA qualified coaches as standard, we prioritise child welfare and we adhere to FA respect policies and codes of conduct.
There are three levels of charter standard awards for clubs and we have been awarded with the most advanced level of club development and football provision
We want to firmly establish Kempston Rovers Colts & Girls FC as the flagship football club in the county and to be the most respected community club in the Bedfordshire.
It might not mean that our development teams win all the trophies but we firmly believe that if we do things in the right way the results will look after themselves.
To have a positive impact on the community and develop better people through football. We want to create a lasting legacy for anyone who comes into contact with our club and for them to develop a lifelong association whether as players, coaches, officials or supporters.
We want our players to develop a well rounded football education, ensuring that as they get older and as the game changes they are equipped to deal with a wide range of situations and problems.
As such we won’t pigeonhole our players into positions at an early age and we don’t expect our teams to stick with rigid formations. We want all of our players to experience all of the game.
We want to:
