We are an FA Chartered Standard club providing opportunity for boys, girls and ladies to engage, play and have fun in grassroots football.
We work closely to the FA's 4 corner model for player developement and provide weekly training sessions and matches across a range of age groups in local Saturday and Sunday leagues.
Kempston Rovers Colts was formed in 1977 by Ian Cole and Roy Saunders who entered one team into the Bedford
Colts League at Under 14. Over the last 43 years the club has gradually grown to enter 34 teams, boys, girls
and Ladies, into local leagues for the 2019/20 season and now has it’s base in Hillgrounds Road as part of
AFC Kempston – a Charter Standard Community Club – with 38 teams playing football!
In 2000 Kempston Community Soccer Coaching was formed out of a more informal “Soccer School” run by Colts volunteers – it encourages learning football through fun and informative sessions, with FA quali;ed coaches, throughout the year (term time only) from the age of 4 upwards and is the pre-cursor to Colts teams but also provides links with other local clubs.
The girls section of the club was formed in 2004/05 with 2 teams and has grown in strength year on year. The girls section renamed themselves Kemspton Rovers Girls & Ladies in 2014 and one of our U16 players at the time designed the new badge of which we are very proud as the ‘K’ turned sideways is a female player.
